Mini PC
Apcsilmic begins sales of the Dot 1 Mini PC, one of many first desktop computers with ARM processors to operate Microsoft's Windows 11 operating system. The system is small enough to suit in the palm of one's hand and made for essential workloads streaming media. Among the main features of the unit is that it posseses an integrated 4G modem used in premium versions.
Apcsilmic's Dot 1 miniature desktop, built on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7c Gen 1 SoC (SC7180, octa-core Kryo 468, Adreno 618 graphics, X15 4G/LTE Cat15/Cat13 modem, 8nm) was done. The system also offers 64GB/128GB/256GB NAND storage options along side 4GB/6GB/8GB LPDDR4X memory.
All Dot 1 computers have an Ethernet port, a Wi-Fi 5 + Bluetooth 5.1 adapter, two display outputs (possibly HDMI 1.4), a microSD slot, It has three USB Type-A ports (two USB 2.0, one USB 3.0) and a 3.5mm audio in/out connector. Also, certain Dot 1 versions have a modem to get in touch to 4G/LTE networks.
Producer says the Dot 1 Mini PC does well enough for “freelancing, watching movies, streaming and gaming.” No performance information has been provided and independent reviews are required. On another hand, let's underline that the Snapdragon 7c can decode videos in H.264, H.265, VP8 and VP9 formats, but does not support AV1, that is rapidly gaining popularity among content creators.
Perhaps the most indisputable benefit of the Dot 1 PC is its sizedollaryellow. Apcsilmic's system measures 111×108×20 mm and can easily fit in the palm. This is exactly why we're looking at a device that's almost as compact as smartphones.
The advantages and disadvantages of Snapdragon SoCs in desktops are usually the same. It's not right to anticipate high end for demanding workloads and games. But it's small in size, offering passive cooling, improved connectivity, efficiency and reasonable price-packaging.
